Beaches of Portovenere
Why not planning a trip to Portovenere? Starting off by car from our Hotel and going past Lerici, you’ll head towards “Porto Mirabello” and the “Military Navy Arsenal” of La Spezia to take the “Napoleonic Road” that leads to Portovenere. It’s also possible to reach your destination by ferry boat departing from the ferry terminal in Lerici. The old hamlet of Portovenere offers plenty of beaches. All along the panoramic seaside promenade that, starting off at the “terrazze” resort, leads you to the historical centre of Portovenere, you will find the free stony beach of the “Olivo”, the equipped “Arenella” beach, the small sandy beach opposite the square with its pine trees and the “Calata Doria”. This path alternates beaches made of stones and pebbles with stones and rocks offering a unique landscape. Finally, from the “Byron’s Cave” staircase you’ll get to the fantastic little stony beach below. On the Palmaria Island, right in front of Portovenere, you will discover the Palmaria’s pebble beach, the “Punta Secco” free beach with sand mixed with gravel, the “Cala Fornace” beach, which is exclusively accessible by sea, and the free and private beaches of “Pozzale”, which lies on the opposite side of the Island.
