Beaches of Lerici
From the “Hotel Serena”, through the panoramic road in an area called “Bellavista”, you’ll reach the ancient hamlet of Lerici in no time. The main beaches of this fishermen’s village are: the “Venere Azzurra” long and sandy beach with its beautiful cliff and bathing establishments and the private beaches of “Lido” and “Colombo”. The scenic pedestrian path, which takes you from the “Venere Azzurra” beach to the historical centre of Lerici, is dotted with huge stones right by the sea: at the end of this panoramic stroll, just passed the “Marina” with its beautiful boats, you’ll get to an extraordinary terrace with sea view over the “Bocche” of Portovenere and the Islands. Here, while lying down on big pinkish stones, you may relax, suntan or listen to the voice of the sea. Another wonderful pearl is the “Caletta of Lerici”. It stands along that stretch of coast that goes from Lerici to Tellaro bypassing Fiascherino: an outstanding cliff emerging from the sea, nestled in a natural bay, just like in a film setting. Today the “Caletta” is only accessible via sea. Besides, the wide sandy beach of San Terenzo, right in front of its lovely historical centre, attracts tourists from all over the world. Finally, one last attraction of this place: the beach behind the Castle of San Terenzo, in an area known as the “Turks’ Hideout”.
